Rachel & Frank | Oak Ridge Forest Park Wedding

Rachel & Frank | Oak Ridge Forest Park Wedding

Everything about Rachel and Frank’s wedding day felt a little “hygge”. Their venue, Oak Ridge, is an old wooden mansion in the middle of Forest Park, and it makes you feel at home the minute you enter its doors. Mix that with the warmth of Rachel, Frank, and their families and you get a little taste of “hygge”.

Rachel and Frank obviously met at the Hare Krishna Cooking Club at NYU, because, where else? They went for the free food and left with true love. When I took them into the park for a little portrait adventure they reminded me of flighty mythical creatures. They both have the sweetest of smiles and they blended in perfectly with their surroundings. At one point Rachel went hopping through a grass field ahead of us and looked like an actual fairy. Every time Frank looked at his fairy queen he broke out in a huge smile–he even smiled at her the moment after he realized we’d maybe adventured a little too much into the woods, as he had stepped in a big pile of dog poo (I vote that this is a sign of very very good luck)! Nevertheless, they gleefully joined me on the playground to swing together for more whimsical photos of their adorable love. The joyful pictures speak for themselves!

I know I said it already (and I’ll probably say it again!) but these lovebirds have the cutest smiles and they’re absolutely infectious. Their ceremony was sweet and warm and full of giggles–especially when Frank said he would be by Rachel’s side “in sickness and in hypochondria”. Relatable. Very relatable. Their rescue dog Petunia “Tuna” was the flower girl, and Rachel’s sisters sang people angelically down the aisle.

You can feel how good Rachel and Frank’s hearts are. You can tell that they are giving of their love not just with each other and with their friends and their family, but to the world around them. They have a pure energy of love and lightness that is indisputable .

Rachel and Frank, you guys are so cute and I love love love your smiles. I’m so lucky that I got to be with you on your wedding day to see so many of them and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Love,

Sydney
