Cameron & Britt | Surprise Proposal at One if By Land, Two if By Sea & West Village

After I walked into One if By Land, Two if By Sea, I was secretly placed in an empty room with Cameron & Britt’s best friend Tatyana, who had helped orchestrate the whole thing. Guys, if you ever want to get a big adrenaline rush, you should photograph a surprise proposal.  It is High. Stakes. Anyway, Tatyana and I got to bond for a whole hour as we waited for them to eat dinner and I got the scoop. These two are high school sweethearts. The way their Tatyana spoke about their relationship, you could tell that she had the utmost respect for and confidence in it. She knows that these two are IT for each other. Once I saw and met them, I immediately felt the same way.

Britt. Had. No. Idea. They live in California and were visiting NYC and at one of the most romantic all-candlelit restaurants, but it wasn’t a rare occurrence because Cameron travels often for work and Britt comes to meet him sometimes. So when Cameron got down on one knee, her hand went to her chest and the “oh my god”s poured out. After the big “yes” the entire restaurant erupted into applause. It was so fun to be a part of!

After everything had settled down, I took Cameron and Britt outside for a short nighttime portrait session in the West Village and finally experienced them firsthand. Britt was not expecting a photoshoot but she was a good sport!  I mean, as you can tell, these two are gorgeous, so they truly needed no prep time. They are so in love and at home with each other and it was such a joy to spend some time with them.

Cameron & Tatyana, thank you for inviting me to be a part of this exciting night last minute! Britt was definitely surprised and it was such an honor to be able to capture and be a part of all the emotions throughout the night. Cameron & Britt, I’m so so happy for you!!
