What’s most important to you right now?
Keeping my family safe. My two little daughters–two and a half and five and a half months–my #1 priority is keeping them and us healthy.
What was most important to you before you had to social distance?
Probably the same, but less dire circumstances. Keeping my family healthy and entertained and happy. It felt like the gravity was different–that was more in a general sense; now it feels very acute.
What’s the first thing you’ll do when this is over?
I will see friends. I don’t know what that means. Maybe we’ll go to dinner, maybe we’ll just meet in the park and hug each other. But I definitely am going to see people. I don’t know what that looks like but I want to see people so badly.
What are you doing to pass the time?
I’m trying to turn my fitness business into an online platform. I’m teaching 2-3 a day, and taking some private clients through FaceTime and Zoom. I’m getting real creative in the kitchen!
What makes you happy right now?
Knowing that we are figuring it out; that we’re together and healthy. That’s making me happy. We’re going to be okay, I think.
What would you tell yourself a month ago with the knowledge you have today?
Hug everybody. Buy more food. Be very thankful and grateful for all of the things we take for granted, more than ever. I do a pretty good job about it, but it’s really easy to let some stuff slip through the cracks.Going outside to take a walk was something I didn’t even consider as a luxury and now I do–it’s a luxury to feel free, walking outside.
